Weekend DJ's

Hello there.  I’m Jimmy Lyles (aka Jimmy “Cadillac” Lyles if you ask Bob Miller) and I absolutely love playing great music for you on the radio! I think the BEST time to listen to 92.9 WBPM is from 1pm-6pm on Saturday afternoons… but I’m partial (hint: that’s my weekend time slot!) Besides weekends, I also get the opportunity to sit in for JJ Carter and the Ran-Man… but most often, I’m the guy you’ll see around town at most of WBPM’s events! (or eating dinner with the Ran-Man at Smoky Rock BBQ in Rhinebeck!)

Some fun facts:

–       I own a DJ & Photo Booth Company named Jimmy Lyles Productions (clever, huh?)

–       I’m the Executive Director of a national touring dance organization, Coast 2 Coast Dance Across America… which has allowed me to teach and DJ in all 50 United States

–       My favorite vacation spot is Disney World in Florida

–    The way to my heart is cheeses and meats… just in case you are looking for Christmas or Birthday presents (mine is November 16th!)

–       I was born and raised right here in the Hudson Valley and I’m thrilled to make this great place my radio home!

Have some thoughts, questions, or comments? Send me an email at: jimmy@929wbpm.com or visit my website at www.jimmylyles.com and let’s chat!

And last but not least, I always end each show with a little reminder to “be kind to one another… will ya?”

Frankenberry here, weekends and mornings for Bob Miller when he’s downtown answering questions and wondering who’s going to post bail this time. I’m also a production guy who builds a lot of the commercials and promo’s you hear (sorry about the commercials part).

Radio for me started at Waynesburg College close to Pittsburgh in 1982, continued in the Grad School days at West Virginia University, also close to Pittsburgh and it made me money for the first time at WDVE and WXDX in Pittsburgh even closer to Pittsburgh (early to mid 90’s). There was one other radio stop after that, Dayton Ohio, before I took a break from radio while doing a wide range of things from tending bar, to checking in guests, or lugging luggage, or serving drinks at a Beachside resort, to wearing tights and a big ass plastic head that afforded quite the view at that same beachside resort, to selling books, baking cookies and scones, pawning a great portion of my CD collection and even a freelance gig where I get the credit of “grip” on the end of broadcast scroll. That’s kinda cool actually.

Once back in radio, which was here in Hudson Valley, I worked at a number of stations, from K-104 to WPDH to Mix 97 to The Wolf and now WBPM. I’ve done overnights, afternoons, weekends and a well rated morning show, jocked at multiple formats, ran a station, been fired twice…then I landed here. 14 years and counting here in the Valley, 3 years now with Pamal and WBPM. You might know me. If not. Frankenberry here.

Hi I’m Steve Shannen and It’s great to be part of the WBPM Weekend Crew. The nice thing about being
on the weekend’s is I get to present the many special weekends we bring you throughout the year. Of
course on these special weekends we play the biggest hits of all time. But there are many songs that are
exclusive to the weekends that bring back many memories.

I’m married to my wife Serina who is a native of Saugerties and have a son and a daughter Stephen and
Shannen Respectively. When not on the radio I work for Allstate Insurance and during my free time I can
be seen in front of the TV rooting for the Yankees, New York Football Giants, New York Rangers and
sadly the New York Knicks(although they are playing better this year).

Hey Everybody, Chris Morgan here.  I’m the new kid on the block, but music and radio have been at the core of my very being since I was a kid (sorry that was over dramatic).

I’ve always had aspirations of being on the radio, every since my college days at Nyack College on WNYK, playing a ton of 90’s pop and hip-hop.  Since then, I’ve been a DJ, a basketball, football, lacrosse and hockey public address announcer, a trivia host, a karaoke MC, a voice over artist, and a huge comic book nerd.

Favorite Food-Pizza and Wings

Favorite Sports Team-The New York Yankees

Favorite Comic Book Character-Batman

Favorite Movie-Back To The Future

Favorite Decade-The 80’s

Favorite Artist-Anything Queen, Prince, or Michael Jackson

If I’m not watching the Yankees from section 208 (season tickets baby), I’m on WBPM Sundays from 9AM-1PM. Let’s start our Sunday’s together, and thanks for listening to 92.9 and 96.5, WBPM!!

First of all…Thank you for listening to 92.9 and 96.5 WBPM!

I first got my start in radio back in 1981 when I broadcasted LIVE from my bedroom, playing songs off of cassette tapes and reading off school delays and cancelations via my Radio Shack microphone…but I only read those announcements on days when I was NOT in School…Why? Because I had to be in School…Lol!

I have always had a passion for talking on the microphone and wanted to host my own radio program and the truth is when I was a kid (on snow days only) I would pretend to be the morning DJ (like Miller) and read off delays and cancellations.

For me…radio is ALL about you! The listeners! Donna G once told me “You ALWAYS sound like you LOVE what you do…You really do…don’t you?” I told Donna as I gave her a great big hug, “ABSOLUTELY!”

I truly love connecting to our listeners by sharing stories, bringing back memories with you about certain songs and keeping it local!

I love radio sooooo much that I actually work for 1 other radio station right here in the Hudson Valley! These stations along with being married to my awesome wife Amy for 20 years (and counting) and running our own DJ company right here in the Hudson Valley keep me  (us) VERY busy!

We are also VERY well known for our Buzzer Trivia nights throughout the Hudson Valley.  We have won BEST Trivia night with Hudson Valley Magazine for 2 years in a row at two of our locations! Check out our website for the complete list for times and locations! DJTonyFlash.com

When you have a second, I would love to hear from you!  Drop me an e-mail at any time.  My email address is tony@929wbpm.com
